Welcome to ACE Study Tours' English Heritage Travel Collection

Working in partnership with English Heritage, ACE Study Tours – the country’s premier operator of cultural travel – has developed the English Heritage Travel Collection, an exclusive portfolio of twenty nine historical tours and cultural cruises.

With over 50 years’ experience of promoting cultural travel, ACE’s tours exude quality. Whether it’s in the British Isles or beyond, ACE’s itineraries offer a unique blend of cultural sight-seeing and explanatory talks, all under the guidance of an expert and approachable lecturer.

Thanks to ACE’s alliance with English Heritage, many of our programmes feature privileged visits and private hospitality: an intimate lunch at Smithills Hall, one of northern England’s oldest manor houses; Victorian afternoon tea at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight; exclusive access to the inner circle at Stonehenge – these are just three of the treats on offer in 2010.

ACE’s tour leaders are chosen for their ability to communicate their expertise: Michael Nicholson, former war reporter and newsreader at ITN, will narrate the history of the Second World War From Dunkirk to D-Day, whilst the archaeologist and broadcaster Julian Richards, perhaps best known for his appearances on the BBC’s Meet the Ancestors, will guide us through the treasures of Ancient Wessex. And on the Thames River Cruise, journalist and author Martin Bell OBE will join us to provide his own tales of London drawn from his long and distinguished career.

And don’t forget that each booking with ACE helps English Heritage to further their work of protecting and promoting the country’s spectacular historic environment.
