Founded in 1958, ACE Study Tours is the country's most experienced operator of cultural travel in the United Kingdom, Europe and across the globe. Every year ACE pioneers over 200 escorted programmes, from one-day courses to extended study tours and cultural cruises, covering every aspect of the arts - music, fine art, the theatre - as well as architecture, archaeology, history, gastronomy and the natural world. ACE's tours and cruises inform, educate and entertain with a blend of cultural sight-seeing, privileged visits and explanatory talks - all under the guidance of a stimulating lecturer. ACE is also experienced in planning, designing and organising tailor-made itineraries for cultural institutions such as English Heritage, Oxford and Cambridge universities and various NADFAS groups.

English Heritage

Working in partnership with English Heritage, ACE has developed The English Heritage Travel Collection, a series of historical tours around the British Isles, often featuring privileged visits and private hospitality, from Victorian afternoon tea at Osborne House to exclusive access to the stone circle at Stonehenge. The themes of our tours range from World War II espionage to the architecture of Derbyshire. For full details click here.

Cultural Cruises

Drawing on 50 years of expertise, ACE has created an exclusive portfolio of cultural cruises to Libya, Tunisia, the Galapagos, Greece, Turkey, the Nile, Provence and Scotland. Each cruise offers a delightful blend of cultural visits and explanatory talks. And the modest size of our boats - we never carry more than 40 passengers - means that participants can enjoy all the intimacy of small cruise sailing. For full details please click here. Counter

Tour Leaders

ACE's tours and cruises are led by specialist and experienced course directors (lecturers) who are chosen for their individual expertise, their ability to communicate and the pleasure they take in their subjects. In 2009 we welcome Meet the Ancestors' presenter Julian Richards to the ACE team. For full details of all our tour directors and lecturers, including Professor Sir Geoffrey Lloyd and the BBC's Humphrey Burton, please click here.
